Dolang Helps Successful Holding of the BRICS Skills Competition

The 2022 BRICS Skills Competition closely focuses on the latest technologies of “Industry 4.0” and “Industrial Digital Twin.” It has built a broad platform for participating colleges and universities to exchange skills and learn. In early October, all the contestants will compete in the form of a combination of online and offline.

BRICS Skills Competition

So far, the trials and finals at home and abroad have been a complete success. Dolang provided support and services such as competition equipment and facilities, technicians… We serve for Industry 4.0 and digital twin events, ensuring the smooth holding of trials and finals worldwide. The BRICS countries highly recognized this competition. And it was supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China, and other departments.

Industry 4.0 competition

The assessment was completed on the DLIM-412A industry 4.0 technology application system platform provided by Dolang. This platform closely focuses on the latest technology development trend of Industry 4.0. It integrates Internet +, smart sensor, PLC control technology, intelligent electromechanical equipment, digital twin simulation, and logistics technology. Meanwhile, it combines advanced technologies such as “IT technology and security. Besides, some meet the technical standard requirements of the Competition and Industry 4.0 competitions, and functions of related modules are also contained.
The hardware platform of the system includes:

  • A bottom box feeding station.
  • A bookmark feeding station.
  • A box cover assembly station.
  • A storage station.

The software platform includes an MES manufacturing execution and digital twin system, which can complete the personalized customization of bookmarks. Completable competition projects include: hardware assembly and debugging, PLC and HMI programming, single-station mechanism simulation, networking and development of WEB applications, industry 4.0 joint debugging, etc.
This competition originates from the actual work position of the enterprise, takes the project as the carrier, and takes the work task as the orientation. It creates a real work situation and integrates mechanical automation, network communication, and industrial software development. The contestants install, program, and debug the known single station according to the materials, components, and parts provided at the competition site. And they integrate the debugged single station into the production system, use the software to control the system, and finally complete the entire production line. Debug, optimize, run. Comprehensively examine the technical application ability, teamwork ability, and professional quality of the contestants in Industry 4.0.

Industrial digital twin competition

The competition relies on the DLIR-275 industrial digital twin system independently developed by Dolang. The equipment is based on the industrial production line and highly integrates various stations in the production line. The platform includes a feeding station, a filling station, a sealing station, and a storage station. At the same time, it is equipped with a digital twin simulation workstation. The software includes PLC programming software, MES, industrial digital twin, and other software. Dolang has also developed a labeling inspection station, a packaging station, and a finished product storage station in the industrial digital twin virtual environment for this production line. Relying on this system, players can eliminate time and space constraints and realize the simultaneous start of competitions in different places. That is of positive significance for improving talent training in the post-epidemic era and cultivating high-quality applied talents needed for the direction of digital twin production.
This competition takes typical industrial manufacturing projects as templates. It mainly uses software such as TIA, PLCSim Advanced, and NX MCD. Competitors need to select the NX mechanical components and mechanisms first and then assemble the mechanical components and mechanisms. After the complete equipment is built, the simulation and debugging of the equipment production process are carried out. The integrated control of the drive of the hardware and the production logic is realized through the transplantation of the debugged program on the digital twin hardware platform. Competitors are required to have comprehensive basic knowledge and skills such as sensing and detection, pneumatic and hydraulic, electrical and PLC control, mechanical foundation, and motion simulation.

Taking the competition as a bridge, Dolang actively built a school-enterprise communication and cooperation platform for the BRICS competition. We give full play to the role of the main force in training future skilled talents and help improve the future skills competitiveness of the “BRICS+” countries. And we will continue to output excellent skilled talents, adding further achievements to the BRICS innovation and construction.
